Screenplay and opening sequence

In front of me lies a fifteen page screenplay. It needs one more writing pass, just to polish it, and then I will start work on the storyboards. The film has an opening sequence which I plan to animate soon. It’s a shot of a rotting apple. I have always planned on doing this as a time-lapse of a real apple. But that takes so much time (17 days) and in the end it’s not really animation, is it? As soon as I decided on animating a clay apple instead, I remembered the outrageous ending sequence of Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead. My apple shot is going to be a tribute to these multi colored rotting zombie heads. You know? For kids.
